Local Favorite: Freeform Coffee
When your company’s slogan is “Positively Charged Coffee,” you set high expectations. But for Monica and Daniel Garland, there’s no other way. Environmental sustainability and social impact are at the heart of what they do. And they do it so very well.

Named for the “glass half full” attitude of its owners, this wonderful bookstore in downtown Flagstaff is a testament to the fact that people still love holding books, reading books and talking about books.

Local Favorite: Benny Blanco Tortillas
Переглядів 1284 місяці тому
Flavor and “stretch” are two of the most important qualities in a great tortilla. Benny Blanco has mastered both. “We do everything old-school,” owner Christopher Hudson says. “Modern tortillas use dough conditioner and chemicals to rush the process. We use time, which is what my nana did.”

Of all the things a couple of entrepreneurs might decide to start making - with little professional experience - carbon-steel cookware would seem to be an unlikely choice. Yet, that’s exactly what a father and son in Goodyear are doing. And with great success.
Local Favorite: Arizona Microgreens

The stereotype suggests that you have to be an executive chef or an earthy-crunchy hippie to use microgreens, but they’re ideal for the mainstream, too. “They’re quicker and easier to use than other greens,” says Joseph Martinez of Arizona Microgreens.

Local Favorite: Killer Bee Honey

Reed Booth has been stung thousands of times. “It is painful, and you don’t get used to it,” he says, but it’s all in a day’s work when you’re in the business of harvesting honey from “killer bees.”
Colados Coffee & Crepes

Before opening their popular crepe and coffee shop, the Reina family had never run a restaurant. You could call their success “beginner’s luck,” but it’s not - these folks have worked hard to figure out the right formula.
Local Favorite: Viola's Flower Garden
Переглядів 27911 місяців тому
Arizona’s climate can make it tricky to grow a garden - Flagstaff had frost on the ground in June - so it’s important to consult with an expert before getting started. One of our favorites is Viola’s Flower Garden.
Sonoran Glass School

What started out as the dream of two local artists, who took inspiration from a glass school they’d visited in Japan, has become one of Arizona’s most respected institutions for learning the many forms of glass art.

stayed here this week - the staff is horrible and the lady at the front desk should not be working with the public 3/29/2024 @ 8am..I'm a rewards member and this place is not to Marriott standards!!
So tragic…they should still be here with their families…😔 🙏🏻
I wanna see a video on all the waterfalls in the canyon ( Havasu falls)...
Guys, he takes the money AND the honey 😎🐝
I think he takes the honey and he makes the money.
Thank you for producing this video Ruth Okimoto. My parents were Japanese-Americans. They were relocated from Los Angeles to Poston. I was born in camp in 1942. I don't remember much about it because I was just a baby but my Mother told me about the life there and how she had to fight to obtain food for my sustenance. My Mom and Dad were glad when they were allowed to move to Cleveland in 1945.
One nice looking vase!

These Heroes will never be forgotten. As they are now beyond men and have become true Angels.
Hey Arizona highways I found some of your old 1977 releases in my art class room and I’ve been reading them and they are very cool to read! So Good job on your magazines!
❤
Was my favorite until I tried to get mine fixed under warranty. No response. Should have listened to my buddy. And bought a Yeti.
Hello and Happy Holidays! How far in advance should we register for next year's event? My wife and I just started stair climbing over this past summer and did the US Bank building YMCA stair climb event in September. This event in Bisbee looks like a lot of fun! Thank you, Marc
I would never stay there again. Closet size rooms. There is no space to put your tooth brush in the bathroom.
Hey Neil, cool video, nice to see you!
Hi Stephen! Hope all is well!
The best!
Thanks for the video, very informative.
The warranty is garbage. The product is garbage. The employees are garbage. My Outfitter 55 arrived directly from Canyon with extremely sharp edges that would cut your hand open and uneven latch closures. When I reached out about switching it for a defect-free model, I was told to go ahead and file a claim, so I did. John Martin from E-retail replied and denied the claim as 'cosmetic'. I was told to "take some sandpaper to the rough spots and work it out". I'd just spent over $300 purchasing a cooler directly from them and their solution was to have me sand away their defects? And then deny my warranty claim? When I explained that I felt this was terrible service his response was, to paraphrase, "tough luck, buddy. Return the cooler." The company is garbage and I'll share this experience with every AT club I hike with, every family that participates in our BSA Troop, every fly fishing group I belong to in the DC region, as well as every Shenandoah backcountry SAR group I work with. Anytime I ever hear anyone mention Canyon- this will be shared.
It's the audio for me
I walked this route yesterday. It is interesting and difficult as I am from a lower elevation and only did two 4 miles walks on level ground at this altitude before trying it. The altitude of Bisbee is 5300 so there is lower oxygen density at this altitude. It was not impossible, but simply takes a fair amount of rest and it's good to have water at my current level of conditioning One can stop and be relatively close to the starting point on half the route, if one so chooses. I will be doing the route multiple times in the next 30 days to improve my cardiovascular and leg strength considerably.
Best burger stop period !
Can you provide links to maps on where this is/how to get there and links to trail(s)?
The funding would be good. I'm not so sure the increased traffic would do the park any good although, the increased parking & camping might help to manage just a little depending on how the visitors treat or respect the land & its nature. The need for more park employees would be needed also. Hope for the best!!!
Does this make anybody sad because it looks so awesome back then?
Nice.
I've been picking up trash in the desert on my walks for years. There's no excuse for being a slob with trash; pick it up, keep Arizona beautiful! I Love Arizona! It's amazing how much trash can be bagged in just half an hour! The wisdom-words hikers used from the 1970's still hold true: "Pack it in, Pack it out!" Don't just haul out your own trash, pick up trash that others have left behind as well. Let your love show, make it real!
Thanks for being an example for others 👌 👍 🌱
